The rechargeable transmitter connects with the daily disposable Sensor, which is worn on the upper arm and held in place by a hypo-allergenic patch.
CGM for everyone
During the past decade CGM has become the standard of care for persons with Type 1 and intensively managed Type 2 Diabetes. In 2019 a group of internationally recognized KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) developed a consensus on goals for Time-in-Range (TIR), which were presented at the ADA 2019 meeting and published in Diabetes Care (https://care.diabetesjournals.org/content/42/8/1593). TIR targets were defined for all major groups of People with Diabetes not just Type 1s.
TIR visualizes and delivers significantly more information on daily glucose variations than HbA1c or blood glucose test strips can. Further, TIR enables People with Diabetes to assess glucose level patterns, make treatment decisions and take actions empowering them to improve their diabetes, health and general well-being.
Until now the high daily cost of CGM and long sensor life have limited the use of CGM only to Type 1 and intensively managed Type 2 People with Diabetes. sugarBEAT® is designed as “CGM for everyone” with a single day non-invasive sensor and affordable pricing.
