All the information you need to get set up with sugarBEAT® and get the most out of your readings

sugarBEAT® FAQs

What is the sugarBEAT® CGM system?

sugarBEAT® is the world’s first non-invasive real-time continuous glucose monitoring system and its unique non-invasive requires no insertion of a sensor under the skin. The daily-disposable sensor allows users to decide which days they want to wear.

How does sugarBEAT® work?

sugarBEAT® consists of a daily-disposable adhesive skin-patch connected to a rechargeable transmitter, with an app displaying glucose readings.

Each patch requires a 30-60 minutes warm-up period, after which sugarBEAT® measures the amount of glucose present at regular five minute intervals. This data is then streamed via Bluetooth to a pre-downloaded App on your smart device (phone / tablet).

Who can use sugarBEAT®?

sugarBEAT® is a glucose trending device designed to help all people with diabetes and pre-diabetes to better manage their glucose levels.

Insulin users can adjunctive use sugarBEAT®® when calibrated by a fingerstick reading.

sugarBEAT® has been clinical tested and approved for use in over 18 and under 70 year olds.

How long can sugarBEAT® be worn for?

Each daily-disposable patch is designed to be worn for 14 hours or what can be described as the waking hours of the day.

When and where will sugarBEAT® be launched?

In the coming months you will be able to purchase Nemaura’s CGM system from our distributor in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Other country launches are planned and announcements will regularly updated. Please register your interest to keep informed.

What will sugarBEAT® cost?

sugarBEAT® will be significantly cheaper than other continuous glucose monitoring systems and comparable in price to glucose meters and strips.

Is sugarBEAT® designed to replace finger stick testing or be used as an adjunct device?

sugarBEAT® is intended to be used as an adjunct to fingerstick testing.

What are the contents of the sugarBEAT® starter pack?

The Starter Pack includes the following items: Transmitter, two sensors, docking station (which is used to charge the Transmitter) and a USB cable & plug, together with the User’s Manual and Quick Reference Guide.

What are the contents of the sugarBEAT® sensor kit?

The Sensor Kit includes the following items: Four (4) or eight (8) sensor kits & product insert.

What is the shelf life of sugarBEAT® Sensors?

The sugarBEAT® Sensor comes in an individual pouch sealed for freshness with a shelf life of 18 months.

How does sugarBEAT® differ from other CGM systems?

sugarBEAT® is an affordable flexible daily sensor for everyone with fewer disposables making it more eco-friendly.
