All the information you need to get set up with sugarBEAT® and get the most out of your readings

Place the Transmitter onto the Docking Station with the three gold contacts facing down. The first time you do this, you should allow at least three and a half hours to charge.
Close the lid and press down until you hear a click.
Connect the USB cable to both the Docking Station and the power source. The green light indicates it’s on. The amber light shows that it is charging. When this goes out, you’re good to go.
Download the latest version of the sugarBEAT® App from Google Play or the App store.
Connect the App to your Transmitter via Bluetooth. Make sure your smartphone is within 1 metre of the Transmitter when you tap “Connect to Transmitter” and accept all permissions.
The App will scan for available devices and you need to select your Transmitter when it appears on screen. When prompted, input the password provided with your device.
Ensure your App is still connected to the Transmitter.
Open one of the foil pouches and remove the Sensor and Guiding Frame. Hold the Transmitter so the narrow slot is visible and the Sensor so tabs 1 and 3 are facing you.
Gently insert the Sensor all the way into the slot on the Transmitter. Firmly press down on the “Hold” label.
Pull tab 1 to release the liner then firmly hold down the edges for at least two seconds, to activate the adhesive. Avoid the white disk in the middle. Pull tab 2 to release the second part of the liner. Again, firmly press down on the lower half of the Sensor, avoiding the white disk.
Hold Transmitter and pull away Tab 3. Press firmly around all the edges. Peel away the release liner 4. Lay the Transmitter on a flat surface with touching the sticky surface.
Select a clean, flat and dry area on the outside of your upper arm, where there are no hairs, no distinguishing marks and you haven’t applied any lotions. Flex your arm to check the area you’ve chosen isn’t prone to lots of movement and wipe it with an alcohol wipe. You should alternate sites between arms each time.
Remove the larger section of liner on the back of the Guiding Frame and pressing firmly place it in your chosen spot.
Peel off the section marked ‘A’, leaving ‘B’ on your arm. Wipe the inside of the frame with an alcohol wipe and allow to dry.
Align the Transmitter so that it sits within the Guiding Frame. Take your time as, once it’s in place, it is best not to move it.
Firmly press the Transmitter down and count to twenty.
Gently peel the Guiding Frame away to remove it. Lightly press on the edges of the adhesive to ensure the Transmitter is held firmly in place.
At the beginning of your session you will be asked to input your glucose reading from a traditional meter and a test strip (SMBG).
Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate your sugarBEAT® system.
Once you’ve calibrated, the App will show all previous readings and then report your current glucose values every five minutes.
sugarBEAT® is the world’s first non-invasive real-time continuous glucose monitoring system and its unique non-invasive requires no insertion of a sensor under the skin. The daily-disposable sensor allows users to decide which days they want to wear.
sugarBEAT® consists of a daily-disposable adhesive skin-patch connected to a rechargeable transmitter, with an app displaying glucose readings.
Each patch requires a 30-60 minutes warm-up period, after which sugarBEAT® measures the amount of glucose present at regular five minute intervals. This data is then streamed via Bluetooth to a pre-downloaded App on your smart device (phone / tablet).

Insulin users can adjunctive use sugarBEAT®® when calibrated by a fingerstick reading.
sugarBEAT® has been clinical tested and approved for use in over 18 and under 70 year olds.
Each daily-disposable patch is designed to be worn for 14 hours or what can be described as the waking hours of the day.

sugarBEAT® will be significantly cheaper than other continuous glucose monitoring systems and comparable in price to glucose meters and strips.
sugarBEAT® is intended to be used as an adjunct to fingerstick testing.
